Student Feature: Henry Meiser

Henry Meiser is currently a rising sophomore at St. Mary's Ryken High School in St. Marys County. Henry's leadership and attributes speak for them self.  Featuring story's like this is one of the best parts about doing this blog.

Henry has held numerous leadership positions over his academic and personal career. He has served on the SMASC (St. Marys Association of Student Councils) Executive Team as Publications and Co-community service director while being President of his own class at Ryken. He is also the county representative to the Maryland Center for School Safety's Focus Group and has also applied to be the Southern Regional Liaison for MASC.

In his free time, Henry is a competitive sailor and skier. In school he is enrolled in the Bio-Med Honors program and hopes to pursue a carer as a Pediatric and Neonatal Surgeon.

Among these accomplishments Henry's biggest is starting a Non-Profit. He started "Southern Maryland Youth Leadership Scholarship" which awards students from Southern Maryland the chance to go to Maryland Leadership Workshop for Free as not all students can pay for tuition.  More then $3,000 is given out each year to students which is amazing.

To qualify you must be a secondary student in Calvert, Charles, or St. Marys County. for more information you can go to SMYLS.org or call 443-342-5912.

Keep up the good work Henry and best of luck in the future. Do I smell SMOB? Maybe :)
