Harford County Student Member of the Board 2020-2021

Phoebe Bailey is currently a rising senior at Joppatowne High School in Harford County. At Joppatowne, she is apart of the Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Program, with a study in Criminal Justice. On December 10, 2019, Phoebe was elected SMOB for HCPS by the HCRASC General Assembly.  Her focus is school safety and equity across all platforms and in all aspects.

Phoebe plans to stay in the criminal justice field and become a federal prosecutor.

She transitioned into the HCPS school system her freshman year. Phoebe enjoys having leadership roles in her school community including junior class president, FBLA President. She’s apart of the SGA at her school and enjoys helping in the community.

She was apart of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council and heading the concerns of students across all levels of education, led her to run to be the Student Member on the Board of Education for HCPS.

Getting to know Phoebe has been a pleasure and I am so glad to call her a colleague and friend. I Cant wait to see what she will bring to the table as  HCPS SMOB.

This summer Phoebes name will be submitted to Gov. Hogan for appointment and will be officially sworn in.
